I have totally refurbished this game and have just sold it. The cabinet is nice and bright with only a few scratches on it. Here's the highlights - New displays, NOS playfield, and a NOS Big Shot Assembly.
This game is a lot of fun to play. Based on a fictional comic character theme, the game is all about becoming "cool". The translite/backglass shares the story of Dr. Dude in a comic book format.
You start by collecting the 3 elements of "coolness" - the Magnetic Personality (an actual magnet in the game), the Heart of Rock 'n Roll, and the Gift of Gab. Once collected, mix them up in the MixMaster to grab multiball and super jackpots. The Mixmaster is a neat spinning disk, with a post attached. The ball is shot up a steep ramp onto the spinning disk, hitting targets placed around the perimeter of the disk, before exiting back onto the playfield.
This game executes a basic theme in pinball very well - hit specially placed targets a certain number of times before trying to make the special shot (MixMaster) to collect your rewards - multiball. The premise is simple, but executing it is a lot tougher. This is because the game plays very fast, so hitting the right shot at the right time can be difficult.
